Pleasant Grove, UT

PG is a Great Place to Live - 4/27/2009
Pleasant Grove has a small-town feel, but is very near to the large cities of Provo, Orem, and American Fork, with SLC just about 45 min away. It is a lovely, clean town with convenient grocery shopping, minimal traffic and crime, and many fun things to do nearby, such as hiking, golfing, fishing, camping, Thanksgiving Point Gardens and museums, etc. It is a fabulous place to raise a family and enjoy the natural beauty around you. I have also lived in Provo and Orem, and they are much the same, just a lot more crowded and busy.

Below, I have included a review of the state of Utah:

I have lived in Idaho, Ohio, and many parts of Utah, and prefer Utah, hands-down. It is beautiful here, with gorgeous mountains, lakes, and clean rivers surrounding you everywhere. There is abundant hiking, camping, skiing, fishing, boating, and hunting, as well as shopping, dining, theme parks, and other wholesome entertainment. Most people's lives here revolve around family, education, and religion, as there are several major universities, and Utah is the well-known capital of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or the Mormon church. There is relatively little crime- you can leave your doors unlocked and be pretty safe, for the most part. The climate has four distinct seasons. A very snowy winter, great for skiing, a hot, dry summer, usually uncomfortable without AC, and mild, pleasant spring and fall. Traffic can be a pain, as most of Utah's roads were not designed to handle the number of people that have settled here. However, it doesn't compare to traffic in really large cities, and most slow-downs are no longer than 15-30 minutes, at most. Whenever I have to move to another state, I always wish I could transplant the beautiful, family-friendly environment of Utah with me. If you are into an adult night-life/ party scene, downtown Salt Lake City is probably one of the few places you will find much to do.
