5/6/2019I will agree we live in a mountain town if your not use to elevation and get elevation sickness our town may not be for you especially if you come from a flat state... but you are dead wrong about diversity and jobs and having nothing to do your 30 mins from Chattanooga tn and 1 hour 30 mins from Atlanta lol I think you just dont like southern small towns...must be from a huge city with tons of people

5/6/2019I reside on the outskirts of dalton near chatsworth ,ga or murray county! I have lived here for 26 years and absolutely love our small mountain town with the blueridge mountains near me and the Appalachian mountains on the other side of town you never get tired of the amazing views of the mountains anywhere you go around town you have views of them! It can get a tad boring here unless you like live music and food! if you do get bored you can drive north 30 mins to Chattanooga or south 1 hour 30 mins to Atlanta. Their is plenty of work here from the carpet industry this is why we are the carpet capital of the world if you dont like that their is everything from construction, painting, automotive, tractor trailer repair, diesel mechanic ect! Everyone here is known for our southern hospitality you wont meet a stranger instead everyone will say "hello" if you say "hello"!

5/6/2019Another thing no carpet mill like shaw or mohawk will pay anything less then 8.25 or 8.50 an hour and that's a person who tapes boxes all day!! Most jobs in the big mills like them pay 10.00 an hour with tons of overtime easily bringing in close to $500 or $600 a week! That's nearly 4000 a month or somthing around it! We do have strict illigal immigration laws ice does check documentation through whitfield county sheriff's office arrests and dalton city police arrests but if your here legally your all good! No this is not a sanctuary city if your illigal you will be deported but we have amazing immigration loyers who will help undocumented immigrants with returning as a citizen or atleast extend a Visa! So let's recap we are not a racist town besides the oddball 000.001% of the 30,000 somthing that lives here like anywere else you have rotten tomatoes who need culled from the vine.... that's everywere you go! Our town I promise to the lord above is the farthest thing from racist that's with my hand on my bible!!! God bless and hope to see some new faces around here in the backwoods where I live or maybe even downtown in our little slice of the bible belt :)

5/6/2019This is a huge lie! Our entire town runs on immigrants if it wasnt for the Hispanic population we wouldn't be thriving! The carpet industry seriously hires everyone in this town! Everyone in this small town of 30,000 lives like family together no one hates anyone my neighbors and their neighbors are Hispanic our town is 40% Hispanic 50% white and 10%other ethnicity or somthing like that! If your a visitor you may want to hang out a little longer before judging all of us from a fraction of 000.001% of the 30,000 somthing folks who call this small mountain town home! This town was seriously built by immigrants both European and Spanish!!! DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS PERSON!

5/6/2019Your crazy wrong.. we have the largest carpet manufacturing companies in the world! The president's ruggs come from our town... their are several of jobs available for those actually willing to work now if you want to sit at home and have an easy job go live up north. You have to have a strong back to live here and a possitive and friendly attitude
