Farmersville, CA

Liz - 11/7/2008
This dude, stop with all the malarky. Clearly he needs to get out of Farmersville because he's cramping our style. He might consider moving away into one of those bigger metropolitan areas he had mentioned before, so that he might be able to appreciate the small town life and mentality here in the little town of Farmersville. I am writing this not as someone who is angry at the fact that someone else is bad mouthing the only town I had ever lived in. No, rather I am writing as a girl who has moved to a bigger and better area. While no doubt I'm having the time of my life out here, I still find myself late at night thinking about my 5 friends, my 3 dogs, and the 1 great life i had in the little big town of Farmersville, CA . I considered Farmersville as the best worst town in this great state. Yes this city's average household income is close to and most of the times below the poverty line in the state(in 2000). This boom town has just recently had a boom, even with the current economy. Housing prices at the beginning of this year where at the highest I had ever seen, but the dramatic drop in the housing market has aided in a rapid increase of the population making the town a great target for large franchises such as: the one and only Starbucks Coffee Co., Mac'Donalds, Jack in the Box, Subway, Auto zone, and a few more just to and a little mystery. Because of the mostly hispanic population the locally owned restaurants and markets have the best athentic mexican food, listen I'm mexican and when mexicans eat mexican food it has to be the real deal we would expect nothing less. Being a police officer in the town must be child's play, literaly nothing go's on during the day and by 10pm its completly quiet. Bond fires in the winter, beautiful warm sunny days in the spring. awsome pool weather in the summer, and racking up thousands of leaves in the fall. This wonderful town is home to 3 elementary schools, 1 middle school, and one high school. We have carnivals, street fairs, we throw parades for memorial day, Christmas, Fourth of July, thanksgiving and so much more. Now don't forget this is still a little town no more then a mile and a half from one side to the other. The atmosphere there is like no where else, somehow in some weird way everyone knows everyone. Yet all the people there are like everyone else in the world. All the teenagers want is there parents money and a fast car, children still ride there bikes down the street after school, old people siting on the front porch. The love I have for my very small town keeps me grounded in this crazy city of more than 1 million.
This is MY little big town!!
