Larkspur, CO is a small mountain town in Douglas County with a population of 260. Although it is a small community, there are many opportunities for year-round outdoor activities and organizations available to the residents. In the summer months, the area offers hiking, fishing and camping in nearby White River National Forest, as well as rock climbing and horseback riding for those looking for more adventurous pursuits. For those who prefer leisurely outdoor activities, Larkspur also has many parks and trails perfect for hiking or biking. During the winter months, skiing at Loveland Ski Area is just a short drive away.
The town of Larkspur supports local business throughout the year with events like the annual Harvest Festival featuring arts and crafts from local artists, fresh farm produce from nearby farms and live music performances; as well as other seasonal festivals throughout the year. There are also monthly Farmer’s Markets available on select weekends featuring goods from local businesses ranging from food to handmade art pieces. Other businesses in town include restaurants such as Boulders Restaurant & Bar providing classic American dishes utilizing locally sourced ingredients; coffee shops such as Firehouse Coffee Roasters that roast their own beans; and retail stores such as Southside Outfitters offering fashion items from popular brands.
For sport enthusiasts there is an annual Youth Soccer Tournament hosted by The Colorado Rapids every June which draws players from across state lines to compete in games held at various soccer fields around Larkspur. For golfers there are two courses located within a ten-mile radius of town: The Meadows Golf Course which opened in 1965 and The Back Nine Club which opened in 2004. Finally, for those who prefer spectator sports, the Denver Broncos are only thirty minutes away providing plenty of opportunity to cheer on your favorite team during football season!
