Quemado, NM People

Quemado, NM is a small rural town located in Catron County. The population of Quemado is 157 people and the population density is 69 people per square mile. It’s surrounded by the majestic Gila National Forest and close to the continental divide. Quemado has many local businesses including Ace Hardware, K&M Grocery Store, and Cattleman’s Western Wear & Boot Repair Shop. Year round outdoor activities in Quemado include fishing, camping, horse riding, hiking, hunting, ATV riding, and snowmobiling. There are also organizations such as the 4-H Club of Catron County and the Eagle Conservation Organization which work to protect wildlife. Local sporting events includes Football games from Quemado High School as well as Rodeo events in nearby communities such as Reserve and Mogollon.
