Torgerson, ND is a small rural town with a population of 71. Despite its size, Torgerson is full of local businesses and activities that keep the community bustling. Businesses include Johnson's General Store, which offers hardware supplies, seasonal produce, and other necessities. Local restaurants such as The Corner Café provide great home-cooked meals that are sure to satisfy even the pickiest eater.
The area also offers year-round outdoor activities for the whole family to enjoy. Torgerson hosts an annual fishing tournament and there are plenty of trails for hiking or biking in the spring and summer months. Wildlife lovers can see plenty of deer, elk, and other animals at Stewart Lake State Park located just outside town. In the fall months, there's apple picking at one of the local orchards and nearby Tinker Creek provides ample opportunities for kayaking or whitewater rafting during spring runoff periods.
There are also many organizations within Torgerson that give back to their community such as the 4H club which mentors young students in agriculture and animal husbandry skills; Helping Hands which serves hot meals to those in need; and the local conservation society which helps preserve land around the area for wildlife habitat.
When it comes to sports, Torgerson has teams competing in football, baseball, basketball, wrestling, and soccer from elementary school all through high school level play. The annual fall football championship game is always a popular event in town drawing spectators from near and far!
