Oak Island, Texas is a small town with a population of 374 people. It is located in Nueces County and has an average population density of 346 people per square mile. The town offers residents year-round outdoor activities such as fishing, bird watching, and biking along the beachfront boardwalk. Local businesses include Oak Island Market, which provides groceries and supplies to the community, as well as several restaurants such as Sea Breeze Café and Deli and Pirate's Galley Restaurant. Other organizations in Oak Island include the Oak Island Lions Club which helps support local causes and charities. Every year at Christmas time, the Lions Club hosts a parade for locals to enjoy. For sports fans there are countywide softball tournaments hosted by the Nueces County Softball Association (NCSA). These tournaments attract teams from all over Texas who come to compete for prizes.
