Lebanon is a small Middle Eastern country located on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It has a population of just over 6 million people and covers an area of 10,452 square kilometers. Despite its size, Lebanon is well-known for its cultural heritage, which includes some of the oldest cities in the world. It also boasts a vibrant economy and tourist destinations, making it a popular destination for travelers from around the globe.
Despite these advantages, Lebanon has struggled with political instability and violence in recent years. Despite this, however, it still ranks highly among the world's best places to live according to various international rankings. For example, in 2020, CNN ranked Beirut as one of the top 5 cities in the Middle East and Africa for quality of life. In 2018, Numbeo rated Beirut as one of the top 20 most livable cities in the world based on safety, health care services, consumer goods prices, and other factors. Additionally, Mercer's Quality of Living Survey ranks Beirut as one of the top 40 cities worldwide when it comes to overall quality of life standards. These rankings are impressive given Lebanon's challenging economic and political climate and show that despite its troubles; it remains one of the best places to live in the world.
