Lafayette, California is home to several religious congregations from different faiths. Local churches include the Lafayette United Methodist Church, St. Monica Catholic Church, and Covenant Presbyterian Church. Each of these churches has a unique history in the city and offer an array of services and programs for their members and community. The Lafayette United Methodist Church was founded in 1887 and today offers Sunday worship, Bible study groups, weekly children’s activities, adult education classes, community outreach programs, and other special events for its congregation. St. Monica Catholic Church has been serving the people of Lafayette for more than 50 years and provides a variety of spiritual services including Masses on Sundays and Holy Days, religious education classes for children, retreats for adults, youth ministries, volunteer programs to help those in need within the community, as well as nursing homes ministry and other outreach opportunities. Covenant Presbyterian Church also serves the local community with weekly worship services at two locations in Lafayette as well as various musical services throughout the month. All three of these churches provide valuable resources to both their members and the larger city of Lafayette.
