Togiak, Alaska is a rural fishing community located on the Nushagak Bay. The town has two schools that provide education for students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade: Togiak School and New Stuyahok School. Togiak School serves approximately 135 students in grades K-12 and is rated by the state as a 4/10 school, while New Stuyahok serves approximately 130 students in grades 9-12 and is rated by the state as a 7/10 school. Both schools offer traditional classroom instruction supplemented with hands-on activities designed to meet the educational needs of local youth. Students from both schools are active participants in extracurricular activities including basketball, volleyball, softball, baseball, and track and field. They also have clubs such as robotics and band that provide additional opportunities for student enrichment. Both schools are known for their commitment to academic excellence and providing a safe learning environment for their students.
