Cerro Gordo, IL is a small rural community located in central Illinois. With a population of 877 people, it doesn’t have access to the same education opportunities as larger cities in the state. Fortunately, Cerro Gordo is served by two local schools: Cerro Gordo Community Unit School District (CUSD) and Cerro Gordo Elementary School. Both of these schools have been rated positively by the Illinois State Board of Education, providing quality education for students from preschool through 12th grade. CUSD offers additional extracurricular activities such as sports, art and music classes, clubs, and more to give students further opportunity for growth and development both academically and socially. The Cerro Gordo Elementary School provides early childhood education and supports the development of basic academic skills that prepare students for future success. All together, these schools provide a positive learning environment that encourages academic excellence in a safe and comfortable setting.
