Ridgewood, NJ is home to many excellent schools for both K-12 and higher education. The public school system in Ridgewood consists of five elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools and several specialty centers. These schools are highly rated for their academic excellence; in fact, most have been recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education. The district also offers enrichment programs such as a gifted and talented program with an emphasis on science and technology, music programs, Advanced Placement courses and a variety of extracurricular activities. In addition to the public schools, there are several private institutions offering pre-K through 12th grade instruction, including St. Elizabeth’s Academy and Montessori School of Ridgewood. Higher education options include Bergen Community College, Fairleigh Dickinson University and Seton Hall University all located within close proximity to the town of Ridgewood. All these institutions provide students with access to quality education that will help them reach their full potential in life.
