Houston, AR is a small city located in the southeastern part of Arkansas. Although it may not be one of the larger cities in Arkansas, it still offers residents access to many different transportation systems. Public transportation is available through two major services: the Houston Area Transit System (HATS) and the Regional Intermodal Transportation Authority (RITA). HATS offers bus routes throughout the city and surrounding areas while RITA provides service in and around Houston, as well as intercity connections to other regional destinations. In addition to public buses, there are also several taxi companies operating within the city limits. These taxis provide on-demand service for those who need a quick ride to their destination. For those that prefer to travel by train, Amtrak's Texas Eagle line provides daily trips from Houston to Dallas/Forth Worth. Finally, many people rely on their automobiles for transportation in Houston and have access to well-maintained roads and highways throughout the area.
