Holmes Beach is a small city in Manatee County, Florida with a population of around 4,966 according to the 2019 US Census. The local political landscape is made up of five city commissioners who are elected for two-year terms. The elections for these positions take place every April and are open to all registered voters within the city limits of Holmes Beach. The mayor is then chosen from amongst the five commissioners by a majority vote.
