Salmon, ID is a small town located in the beautiful Lemhi Valley of Idaho. It has a population of around 2,500 people and is the county seat of Lemhi County. The politics in Salmon are largely dominated by the Republican Party, however there is a strong presence from both Democrats and Independents in the area as well. The mayor of Salmon is Bill King, a Republican who was elected to office in 2016. He has been highly successful at bringing new business and jobs into the town since his election. There are also several local candidates running for office during this election season including Democratic candidate Bonnie White, Independent candidate Jason Stanfield, and Republican candidate Rick Reed. All three of these candidates have made it their mission to focus on issues like economic development, public safety, and environmental protection that will benefit all the citizens of Salmon.
