Lexington Park, MD is a small town located in St. Mary's County with a population of around 11,000 people. It is home to the Naval Air Station Patuxent River and the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum and has a rich history of military involvement. The city has an active political scene with numerous local candidates for mayor, city council, and other municipal positions running in each election cycle. In recent years, Lexington Park has been working on initiatives to improve infrastructure, spur economic development and growth, increase educational opportunities, and promote public safety. The current mayor is John Raley who was re-elected in 2019 for his third term after originally being elected into office in 2012. He works closely with the City Council to identify ways to make Lexington Park an even better place to live, work, and play.
