Huntington, MA is a small town located in the western part of Massachusetts. It has a population of approximately 3,500 people and is known for its warm community atmosphere. The town’s politics are overseen by the local town government, which consists of three elected Selectmen and an appointed Town Administrator. The Selectmen are responsible for approving budgets, setting town policies, and appointing department heads. They are also responsible for appointing people to various committees such as the Planning Board and Economic Development Committee. There are no local political candidates running in Huntington at this time; however, residents frequently elect state officials who they feel best represent their interests in state government affairs. Local elections are held every two years with the next election taking place in 2021. Through these elections, Huntington’s residents can determine who will be representing their interests at the state level and beyond.
