Eden Prairie, Minnesota is a city located in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. It has a population of over 62,000 people and is known for its beautiful parks and trails, diverse restaurants, and exceptional schools. It also has a vibrant political scene with numerous local candidates running for office each year. In recent years the two main parties that have represented Eden Prairie are the Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) party and the Republican Party of Minnesota. Each year these two parties put forward candidates to represent their views on important local issues such as education, infrastructure development, public safety, and economic growth. The current mayor is Phil Young who was elected in 2019 as a Democrat. He has been involved in state politics since 2004 and has implemented various initiatives to improve quality of life in Eden Prairie. Additionally, there are several local races each year ranging from Police Chief to City Council that involve an array of candidates from both major parties vying for support from voters around town.
