Waseca, Minnesota is a small city located in southern Minnesota with an approximate population of 9,829 people. It has a mayor and city council governing the local government. The current mayor of Waseca is Mark Kaus, who was first elected in 2018. The city council consists of five members: Donna Smith, Phil Schochenmaier, Jay Miller, Mike Thomsen, and Mike Schleusner. They are all elected by the citizens of Waseca for four-year terms and focuses on improving the quality of life for those living in the area. In recent years they have worked to fund projects such as upgrading parks and improving public safety measures throughout the community.
