Wood Lake Township in Minnesota is a rural community with a population of 6,435 people as of the 2018 census. Politically, it lies within the district of the state’s 3rd Congressional District and is represented by Congressman Dean Phillips. The township is run by a board of three supervisors who are elected to represent and manage the township’s interests and resources. In addition to the three supervisors, Wood Lake Township also has a treasurer, clerk, and road maintenance supervisor who are each appointed by the board to ensure that all operations for the township are functioning correctly. Local elections occur every two years with residents electing their supervisor candidates according to their preferences for representation in town politics. To further ensure that local representation is accurate and up-to-date, local candidates can also be nominated during general elections held via mail or online.
