Cedarhurst, NY is a small town in Nassau County located on the South Shore of Long Island. It’s a vibrant community with plenty of local politics to keep the residents engaged and informed. The Cedarhurst Village Board of Trustees governs the village and is made up of five elected officials who serve two-year terms. These trustees are responsible for overseeing municipal services such as public safety, sanitation, zoning regulations, parks and recreation, etc. Along with these services, they also establish guidelines for taxation and regulation of businesses within the village. There are currently no candidates running in upcoming elections for Cedarhurst, however that doesn’t mean the local politics aren’t active – there are frequent meetings held by the board to discuss new policies or amendments to existing ones, as well as an annual budget hearing which allows citizens to weigh in on potential spending plans.
