Monroe, NY is a small town located in Orange County, New York. It is home to around 22,000 people and offers its residents a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The local politics of Monroe involve the governing body of the Town Supervisor, Town Council, and Town Clerk. These officials are elected by the citizens of Monroe every two years during municipal elections. The current Town Supervisor is Robert Rolison who has been in office since 2010. He works to ensure that local government initiatives are being addressed adequately and that the needs of the community are met efficiently. The Town Council consists of four members elected by district who work together to create legislation that applies to all residents of Monroe. Finally, the Town Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate records of all past and present meetings between elected officials and members of the public. In short, Monroe’s local politics concern itself primarily with addressing community issues while striving to work on behalf of all citizens fairly and transparently

Here at BestPlaces, we were looking at the voting patterns since the 2000 election and realized that we could express the results of each election as one letter. R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won. The six elections (2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020) would be expressed as six-letter word (R R D R R).
