Twinsburg, Ohio is a city located in Summit County between Cleveland and Akron. It has been part of the Summit County since 1819 and has a total area of 10.3 square miles. The city offers a variety of shops, restaurants, and parks for visitors to enjoy. In terms of local politics, Twinsburg is governed by a mayor and eight-member council who are elected on a nonpartisan basis. The city council is responsible for different areas including finance, public safety, parks & recreation, public works & engineering, building services, human resources & labor relations, and community development. The mayor presides over meetings and serves as the head of the city government. The current mayor is Ted Yates who was first elected in 2019. Local elections are held every two years with the primary election taking place in May and the general election in November. All registered voters can cast their ballots during early voting at the Summit County Board of Elections office located in Akron or on Election Day at designated polling places within Twinsburg City limits.
