Lehighton, Pennsylvania is a small borough located in Carbon County with a population of around 5,000 residents. Lehighton is governed by a seven-member council which makes laws and ordinances for the town. The Council appoints a Borough Manager to oversee daily operations and appointed department officials such as the police chief. Elections are held every four years for the mayor, council members, and tax collector positions. The current mayor is Francis Slattery who was elected in 2019.
