Belfair, WA is a small town located in the northwest corner of Washington state. The town has been around since the early 19th century and has grown to become an integral part of Mason County. Politically, Belfair is governed mainly by the Mason County Board of Commissioners which consists of five county commissioners who are elected at-large by registered voters across the county. This board sets tax rates and makes decisions concerning new construction projects and other matters related to local government operations. In addition to this board, Belfair also elects representatives to serve in the Washington State Legislature as well as in Congress through its congressional district. Thus, Belfair is politically active in both state and federal elections which are held every two years.
