The Nisqually Indian Community is a federally recognized tribe of Native Americans located in Washington State. The tribe has been involved in the political process since it was founded in 1854, and continues to be an active participant in state and local government today. As a sovereign tribal nation, the Nisqually people have their own constitution and laws that govern them, as well as representation at the state legislature level. The tribal government offers programs and services for its members and works to create opportunities for economic development in the community. In addition, the tribe also works closely with other local governments to ensure that its members' rights are respected and upheld. Through its involvement in politics, the Nisqually Indian Community seeks to protect its sovereignty while ensuring that all citizens of Washington State can benefit from meaningful participation in their government.

Here at BestPlaces, we were looking at the voting patterns since the 2000 election and realized that we could express the results of each election as one letter. R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won.
