Summit Township (Beltrami County), Minnesota is a relatively small community, with a population of just over 1,200. It is governed by an elected Board of Supervisors, comprised of three citizens from the area. The current Supervisors are Bryan Anderson, Richard Noot and Don Pung. Each Supervisor serves staggered four year terms, and elections are held to fill any vacated seats. Residents can get involved in the local politics through attending Board meetings, joining committees or volunteering on election days. The Board takes action on matters such as grant applications, zoning regulations and budgets that affect the day-to-day life for those living in Summit Township. Community members have the opportunity to be heard at monthly board meetings held in the Township Hall.
