Lyon County, Iowa was established in 1851 and is located in the northwest corner of the state. It has a population of just over 11,000 people, spread out across several small towns such as Rock Rapids, Inwood and George. Lyon County is primarily rural in nature and it’s economy relies heavily on agricultural production such as corn and soybeans. Livestock also plays an important role in the county's livelihood. Recreational activities including hunting, fishing, camping and boating can be enjoyed at various parks throughout the area.
