It's a legend in its own mind. - 10/1/2020

Living here is like Paton Place. Also like Desperate Housewives or 90210. In the words its a terrible place to live. It's made up of predominantly New Yorkers and their attitudes. Rude would be putting it mildly. Real Estate is overpriced and it's junk. Go live in Winter Park, Florida, it's paradise.

South Florida - 1/16/2011

The climate is great for about 2-3 months of the year. The rest of the year is fine, as long as you like to be soaked in sweat every time you step outside for more than a minute or two. The traffic is like any other crowded metro area that lacks decent public transportation, but down here you get the added bonus of the masses of the unlicensed, uninsured, and ultra-aggressive drivers who are quite proficient at road-rage. But the experience is not limited to driving. Most places you go in South Florida, people serve up hearty helpings of "get out of my way" and "me first" with an extra-large side of "sense of entitlement." I have had the pleasure of living in South Florida for about 3/4 of my life, but have also traveled quite a lot over those years and I have yet to find a place where the overall vibe can compete with Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties in terms of hostility and rudeness. I chalk it up to the combustible combination of several factors: the heat and humidity, the over-crowding, and the clash of cultures, to name just a few. It isn't always obvious to people who come for a visit, or even for the first couple of years of living here, but it seems to become an unfortunate fact of life for most people who have lived down here after the first few years, if not sooner. Yes, I would like to move, and yes, I welcome information about other areas, thanks! =)

The City That Has It All - 12/9/2009

Boca Raton is an easy city to live in. It has it all. It is possible to work, shop, dine, see a movie and go to the beach, all within a two mile drive.

I love Boca Raton! - 9/29/2008

Boca Raton is an absolutely beautiful city. Its lush landscaping, well manicured lawns and streets and magnificent Oceanside parks and recreational areas are just the beginning of what this beauty this city has to offer. It is a well planned city with everything an individual needs to enjoy life in Florida. For a small city, Boca Raton has a lot to offer. It has two major universities, 2 major hospitals, 3 beautiful city park beaches, a major shopping mall along with many other smaller ones, Million dollar mansions and country clubs to cute and quaint communities, A rated public schools and some amazing private schools, wide roadways and highways for easy commuting, its own private airport, magnificent ocean and beaches, great restaurants, entertainment, proximity to 3 major international airports and cultural centers and an international mix of educated professionals and families. I have lived here for over 17 years after living in other major cities and out of this country. All I can say is I LOVE BOCA RATON and I recommend it to everyone that I meet. I have had people argue with me, but after they live here for 2 years or more, they do NOT want to leave. I love it… its MY BEAUTIFUL BOCARATON!

Boca Raton - 8/11/2008

Boca Raton is a great place to live...if you make over 100K a year. It is very safe for the most part and generally provides a nice quality of life, but the cost of living is alot, and can start to add to the stress of living in an already overpopulated area. Very congested building-wise and when the winter months hit, the city overflows with people. A 4 mile trip take approx.20 minutes. Schools are good, and although FAU is in the area, college students aren't really an issue. Overall I'd give living her a B-

No other Place like it in Florida - 5/7/2008

There is no other place like Boca Raton in Florida. It's a very clean and beautifully landscaped city. " The city of trees", has parks, recreation shopping( Mizner Park and Town Center Mall ..the two largest shopping areas)and the best in entertainment and dining. I would say it's a city that has something to offer everyone. It has more of a mix in age range than say Sarasota, Fl. I've lived there too but Boca has more sophistication and a city feel. But it can be costly to live here. Most of the city workers live somewhere else and commute.

Sophisticated resort town - 7/25/2007

Boca Raton is a paradise for those who want to be on vacation 365 days a year. The beaches are uncrowded and pristine with white sands and turqoise waters to rival any Caribbean destination. Communities are kept beautiful in spite of the recent high costs of hurricane cleanup. Everything one needs in Boca Raton is within easy reach. Every time a new community is built a shopping center is built with the name of that community. This makes commuting times and costs for shopping very low in these days of high gas prices. Although Boca Raton lacks a real public transportation system, many people live within a short drive or walking distance of Town Center mall and Boca Center which are some of the greatest malls anywhere with the an incredible number of upscale, architectually impressive stores. Night life in Boca Raton is safe and community centered. There are outdoor cafes, night clubs and an amphitheatre in Mizner Park. Outdoor shows in Mizner Park and Royal Palm Plaza provide an abundance of free, family-centered entertainment.

the cost of living is getting increasingly worse. specially the insurance and real estate tax situations. the tax cut proposals in Tallahasse are a joke and just make the politicians look good

This is a wonderful area to live in. Winter time it gets a bit overrun, summer you have the place to yourself. Good schools, well run city government, and happy people. All shopping is close and major roads only 5 minutes away.
