Jeffersonville High School - 11/9/2010

This high school has seen its fair share of issues. Unless your child is in honors classes your child may be not get the education you are hoping for. Teachers don't seem to be able to control their classrooms. Students are extremely disruptive and the teachers just give up. There is a full time armed police officer on the grounds at all times. Daily my child comes home with a story about fights breaking out. Sometimes involving a weapon. If this school district paid more attention to getting qualified caring teachers, teachers that are dedicated to their profession instead of just showing up to collect a paycheck, this school would produce students that want to excel. This is the only school in the area that offers AP classes otherwise my child would be attending elsewhere. The dropout rate is enormous. Think twice, three times before moving here if you have a high school age child.

Elementary Schools - 2/15/2010

As a teacher in the local school system I have seen some excellent Elementary Schools in this area. If you are looking for schools that will provide your child a loving, yet challenging environment, there are several to keep in mind. I would highly recommended the following schools: Riverside Elementary, Utica Elementary, Thomas Jefferson Elementary, Spring Hill Elementary, Maple Elementary, Northhaven Elementary, and Bridgpoint Elementary. The entire staff at each of these schools is focused on the well being of students. As a parent moving to a new state, I know it can be helpful to know which schools offer not only challenging curriculum, but also an atmospheres that is as low stress and healthy as possible. Because of my position, I have had the opportunity to work in several elementary schools in this corporation, I have seen the teachers, administrators, and support staff at work. I would feel comfortable having my child in any of the above listed Jeffersonville, Indiana Schools.
