Lexington is a Jewel in the Shenandoah Valley - 7/4/2020

I moved to the city of Lexington from Houston 4.5 years ago. I couldn't be happier. Residents are polite and friendly. There is employment for seniors like myself and I enjoy my 2 part time jobs here (performing arts theatre and museum in a historic house). The town is very pretty and has a heart to it. In 5 minutes, one can be in stunningly beautiful countryside. There is very little crime and the local police are friendly and community spirited. Housing and cost of living is higher than Houston, but for me, well worth it.

High cost of living for such a small place! - 8/23/2008

Lexington is a nice little town in the Shenandoah Valley, but is quite expensive to live in. It is most likely due to the snow-birds moving to a location closer to their northern homes. Nice town, especially if you enjoy the history of the Civil War.
