Public schools ugh - 6/3/2012

Generally, Delaware public schools are dreadful. Most people that can afford it choose to invest in their child or children by sending them anywhere but to a Delaware Public School. I agree wholeheartedly.

Newark is a Gem! Three thumbs up!! - 1/1/2008

I have lived in Newark for 27 years. My great-grandmother owned the Windy Hills development when it was a farm, and my father even grew up in the same house that I did. I love this town, because even though I have traveled through most of the States (and over seas), this town does not compare with many other towns. There is great diversity, nightlife, friendly people, great schools and universities, and lots of culture. Also, this town is a short drive from the beaches; major cities like New York, Philadelphia and Baltimore; and also there are mountains nearby too! There's always something to do in Newark!

Is mass transit to Philly good? - 4/6/2007

I am thinking of moving to Newark, but wanted to know if commuting to Philly is possible, especially outside of 9-5 hours. I see PATCO runs to Newark, but I don't know how often.

Life in Newark - 4/5/2007

Newark is a small and nice city. The climate is very climate and people are kind and friendly. The city also kept many traditional US cultures.

Newark, Delaware is an excellent place to live. It is a growing and vibrant college town within an easy drive to Philadelphia and Baltimore/ The University of Delaware is close by and there are a number of excellent commuinty colleges nearby including Delaware Technicak and Community College which was Community College of the year back in 2002. couple the low unemployment rate of 3.2% with the lack of a state sales tax and you'd be hard pressed to find a better place to live.

Honest Opinions about Delaware and Newark schools - 7/20/2006

We are considering a move to Delaware, but we don't know anything about the schools. We have family in the Newark area. Can anyone tell me where to stick to and where to stay away from? Is there a better city area for schools in Delaware? Thank you!

Erratic - 4/30/2006

The climate here is more erratic than any other place I have lived. The weather can change from the 40's to the 80's within the span of a week during the spring
