Friendliness and Diversity - 7/26/2011

Last fall my husband and I visited the state of Washington to check out ideas for retirement locations...we fell in love with both Silverdale and Whidby Island. We stopped at night in Silverdale just to take a rest and walk around. We happened to stop at one of the malls...went in and found two things very important to both of us...friendliness and ethnic diversity. We were so impressed that even though we had to leave the next day we drove back up the following morning to see the town during daylight hours...we were not disappointed by either the scenery or the people we met. I hope we will be able to afford retirement there when the time comes.[more...]

Ideal - 12/15/2007

I love it here. I am from the Central Valley in California (Manteca) and lived in the Napa/Santa Rosa area for some years as well as Alaska. This is the place of all the places I love. I love the mountains and green. Trees. The weather could have snow that stayed a little longer and some warmer weather in the summer, but I have never felt so comfy and save as living here. Come visit.[more...]

Housing and Real Estate in Kitsap County, Silverda - 9/13/2007

Kitsap County is a one-hour ferry ride west of Seattle on the Kitsap Peninsula. The area's main contributor to the economy is the US Navy, with several military bases in the area including Bangor, Bremerton and Keyport. The real estate industry in the area is begining to slow down from the incredible activity and increase in prices from the last several years, what we Realtors like to call a "market correction." Interest rates are still low, making now an attractive time to buy a home, but less attractive for sellers. Questions about the area or real estate in general? Just ask! For up-to-date market information, you can visit my blog at www.KitsapHomes.blogspot.com. [more...]
