Decsent Rent?

I am looking into a position in Miami Shores so we would be moving from Central Illinois. We would need a reasonable rent at the beginning until we get settled in and feel out the cost of living there. Where do you suggest? We have a 16 yo boy. Of course I would want a safe neighborhood and at good price.

Any info would be appreciated
