One of the most polluted and unhealthy places you can live while residing in the US. The air pollution from three paper factories is twice the rate of the alarming levels that cause cancer and the local government just financially awarded them which will cause double the impact. It's shocking. I actually loose my voice while downtown. Savannah has the 3rd most toxic water way in the entire country. The wages from local jobs are 35% below the local cost of living. Traffic is an unregulated, nonsensical nightmare congesting the downtown area. No high end restaurants and not many healthy restaurants. Leading cause of death heart disease (i.e., restaurant offerings are seriously unhealthy), and cancer which is no surprise due to water and air pollution. Life expectancy in Savannah is only 76 years old (hard life due to no decent wage, high rents, high food costs, high fuel and utility cost, high pollution, rated 3rd most toxic water in the country - local government officials are funding double the amount of air pollution with cancer causing agents). High crime. It's a death trap.
