Review of East Hampton, New York

Expensive
Star Rating - 7/12/2006
Because my husband accepted a job offer here we moved from Southern California to East Hampton in 2000. From arrival it became clear the cost of living had practically doubled for everything from the groceries to fuel and rent, etc. We had hoped to buy but there is nothing in a realistic price range to even consider. Fixer uppers start at $800,000. Most real estate is $1,000,000 plus and lots begin in the mid $100,000 range.
