Crime in Columbia

Columbia does have one of the highest crime rates in the country. Also, gang activitiy. Just read the state newspaper online or check the crime stats on this site. However, I do feel safe living in Northeast Columbia. The crime seems to be located in and around the city limits. However, I still do not go out after dark.
