One of the best up-and-coming communities in the Indy area. Great people - great schools - great amenities - and housing is still a great bargain when compared to other areas. No doubt Avon will not remain as affordable as it has been because people who used to look for homes in areas like Zionsville are beginning to catch on and buy in Avon instead. Smart money would invest in Avon... all you have to do is look at the change in demographics, per capita income, and population growth in the last five years to see that.[read more...]

The Best Unknown City In America - 8/20/2006

I grew up in Indianapolis and moved to Avon in 2002. We moved to Naples, FL to escape the cold winters. My wife and I miss Avon so much. Avon is just perfect to raise a family. We felt so comfortable there with our kids and had a blast every weekend at the parks and the most wonderful youth soccer program. We feel like now we can't give our kids the same quality of life as they had in Avon. Avon was great with traffic, stores, sports, families, and the feeling of a great community I never grew up with, going to one of the biggest high schools in Indiana. You won't be upset with Avon, maybe just a little cold in January-February.[read more...]
