1. Extremely low cost of living and housing for region
2. Affordable place to live
3. Nice physical setting and climate

Cons:
1. Very high crime rate
2. Huge problem with gangs and drugs
3. Poor school system
4. Poor air quality
5. Overall one of the worst places to live in the state

Lousy place to live - 2/17/2010

Hobbs is the worst place in the U.S. to live. People that live here are snobs and they aren't helpful at all. Forget about getting a job here. If they don't like you, they won't hire you! The people are unfriendly and money hungry. No matter how much you try to involve yourself in the community, they never recognize your efforts. This is truly the worst place to live![read more...]
