Hi,
I visited Sequim afew weeks ago with my youngest daughter & her Family. They will be relocating to Sequim in the next 4-6 weeks...as Sequim was on the top of the List(s) they said to raise a Family, Schools etc. They suggested that I relocate also to sequim because of the work that I do. I have worked w/ the Elderly since I was 18 yrs old & have done "Private In-Home & Hospice Care" for the past 12-15 yrs here in Newport, Oregon. I do work by the hr but also do 12-24 hr Care. There are so "many" more Caregivers here...than there are jobs. Might work for 2 mo but then there might be ( and often are ) 2-4 mo in-between job(s). I am looking for a Job in Sequim where I might beable to exchange work for a small Apt / House. I would like to move to Sequim about the same time as the kids "But" if not then will have to wait 4-6 mo. Please...feel free to Contact me at anytime & I will respond ASAP. My Personal & Job References are some of the "Best" and I feel & know in my heart...that I would be an Asset to the Community of Sequim.
God Bless...Pat pringer@charter.net

A Place with lots to do - 3/13/2011

Sequim is close to both the ocean, Strait of Juan de Fuca, Lakes, rivers, and the Olympic Mts. There is no smog, little traffic, and the summer weather is close to perfect with long days. The winters are mild but tend to be gloomy.[read more...]

Help!!!!!! - 1/21/2010

I just moved from Florida to Washington State because of work. Although the geography is absolutely beautiful here, I miss the sun. When it does decide to come out, I race outside and point my face skyward, hoping to absorb as much of it as I can! Wow, talk about Seasonal Affective Disorder! The people here are wonderful. They're down to earth and friendly. They'll talk to you in line at the store or answer questions that you ask about the area. I've only been here for a couple of months and it IS winter, so I'm hoping the summers will be gorgeous. If you're looking for a small-town feel but don't care about the weather, this is the place for you. Otherwise, be careful and stock up on your vitamin D![read more...]

Best Quality of Life - 4/15/2008

I moved here from San Bernardino and San Diego, my uncle has lived here for 15 years and always bragged about it. So I checked it out. Best move I ever made. Beautiful, peaceful, deer, eagles, no crime. On the water across from Victoria Canada. Hiking, boating, don't have to lock our doors at night, only downside is 25 mph speed limit, will drive you nuts. We have Walmart and Costco, Home Depot, and peace and quiet.[read more...]

Looking for job with free rent included - 9/8/2006

Is Sequim a nice place to live with mostly sunny days? I heard it does not get much rain and the sun shines a lot so it is a great place to live if you love outdoor activities. I am thinking about moving to Sequim because I have always loved the Mts and the beach and it seems in Sequim I would have the best of both worlds. Does anyone have a job that would include free housing? I could also paint/fix up/remodel living quarters in return for free housing until I find a job. I have receptionist, clerical, customer service, photography, retail, delivery, cashier and child care experience. I am compassionate, honest, organized, clean, quiet (not a partier), flexible, artistic/creative. I have one well behaved indoor cat that will be living with me which seems to be a deterrent in finding decent housing but I am too attached to give him up.[read more...]

Rainfall - 1/30/2006

As shown in the Sperling comment section for Sequim, the annual rainfall is under 15" (10" in 2005), even though the comparison matrix comes up as 65". Location is very critical here because of the "rainshadow effects" of the Olympic Mountains. One mile variance can mean significant more rainfall.[read more...]
