Real Estate Fraud in Victorville, CA - 2/14/2021

Real Estate Agents from company MVP Realty SoCal, Teresa Roberts and Mona Patel in VICTORVILLE, CA commit scam, extortion, conspiracy, and fraud resulting in a 15 million dollar lawsuit, Lawsuit Case #20STCV13284. This one is headed right for the Supreme Court. Business partners, Real Estate Agent Teresa Roberts DRE License #01996900 and Mona Patel DRE#01834500 are brokers for company MVP Realty SoCal. Allegedly, they both concealed DUAL AGENCY in a mult-million dollar transaction for a property on the famous Melrose Ave in Hollywood, California at address 4867 Melrose Ave Los Angeles, CA 90029. Allegedly, the conspiracy was to obtain an illegal sale of the purchase of the property with absolutely NO PAYMENT. Yes that’s right, no payment. Bunch of whiners!!! The high desert FTW! - 8/23/2018

I'm so sick of all "This isn't the Victorville or High Desert it was back when I grew up here in the 80's or 70's!" reviews and comments on local online community forums. Newsflash! This WORLD isn't what it used to be ANYWHERE! Time changes every community. I moved up here in 2005. I was SO excited about my BRAND NEW home and kids blue ribbon award winning school and the fact that living in a much more affordable area I could afford to stay home with my kids. Then I made the mistake of reading all the comments on every news story involving crime in the online paper news site. With each one I read from commentators stating how HORRIBLE this place has gotten. My kids were in grade school and I read horror stories about the middle school they'd be attending. "There are fights every day. Including parents fighting students in the parking lot and lock downs almost on the daily because its TERRIBLE." I was beside myself. I sold my tiny little house in Rowland Heights to move up here. Mind you the neighborhood I came from wasn't the best by any stretch of the imagination but it wasn't this horror! I cried. OMG we made such a mistake! But as the time passed my kids attended school and we had ZERO issues. Not in their school or my neighborhood. (Brentwood) which the commentator dubbed "Brenthood." All the comments would mention drive bys, burglaries like EVERY day. Yet I lived very peacefully in that neighborhood for over six years. Only reason I moved was because I lost my house when the market crashed. Oh and the middle school I braced myself for. (Hook middle school) NOT A SINGLE PROBLEM with either of my kids. Were there fights and occasional lock downs? Yes JUST like there were in my Los Angeles schools when I was growing up. Were my kids traumatized by any of them? No like me it was a rite of passage and we've all been there and seen it. Yet, these commentators are HORRIFIED like they NEVER experienced a schoolyard fight. o.O I've since moved to another (older) neighborhood behind Holy Innocents church. I've been here now for years and in that time the only drama we've seen is the house across the street burning down due to some faulty electrical stuff. I LOVE my home with a pool and beautiful landscaping that would cost over a million down the hill. I LOVE my quiet neighborhood. I ride my bike in the morning and walk my dogs and the only drama I've every experienced is when God forbid a cat runs out and my HUGE dogs go nuts. Yes, there is crime up here like there is EVERYWHERE. We've experienced our share so I'll be perfectly honest. We had our SUV broken into in our own driveway ONCE and they stole the change out of the ashtray and the radio. This same SUV was broken into in Rowland Heights and the third row seat was stolen. We also had an edger stolen from the side of the house. This is within a THIRTEEN year time frame. My husband has FORBID me to read all the negative comments on the local news forums and such. I'll read the stories in the news because I want to stay up to date but all the negative comments I just roll my eyes. I've been here too long to know they're just TOTALLY exaggerated or these peeps keep staying in negative situations and why they keep experiencing this sh**. Jobs. In the thirteen years I've been here I had to go back to the job force when I lost my home. I got a job in the cellphone retail store for one of the bigger wireless companies and while my base pay wasn't ANYWHERE near my base pay down the hill, my total take home each month was more before I kicked a$$ in sales and my commission checks were awesome. I then decided to go after my dream and became self employed but it's gotten tough so VERY recently I've been searching for jobs. I can tell you there are a TON. Mostly retail which I'm holding out on FOR NOW, but there are school districts and banks, big insurance companies, lots of credit unions, Dr. Pepper, Dwight and Church and Costco who it seems is always hiring and pay well. I'm holding out for no retail and already got a callback from a bank. So there are PLENTY of jobs up here. In the high desert you live above the clouds, with clear skies (which is why my asthmatic soccer playing daughter got rid of her inhaler) and have the opportunity to own the home of your dreams! Don't take these whiners words for it. Come up and hang out and see how many drive bys and all out riots at the mall you experience. In my thirteen years here. ZERO! OH,oh! And the weather! You get EVERY season. Freezing, mostly flurries but sometimes snow in the winter. Beautiful bright springs. HOT summers but they're short and it's very windy so makes it more bearable than say Laughlin or something and then my favorite cozy autumns that lead right into my MOST favorite time of the year, the holidays when my fireplace stays on until spring! I wish I could post pictures. I'm not trying to sell a damn thing. I just love my simple life in the high desert and HATE all these HATERS who clearly attract negativism. You definitely get more bang for you bang here WITHOUT all the BS that all these posters try to get you to believe it's an every day thing!

Gang crime, low wages, disparity everywhere. - 1/6/2018

In the early 2000s lots of cheap homes were built which attracted a lot of people from east LA and other terrible areas. Soon after the first gang unit was created in the local police and graffiti became a normal sight. I left Victorville in 2009 and every time I have visited since, it has become worse and worse. Do not enroll your kids in public school here. Gang violence was a regular thing at my highschool and police had to stop riots on multiple occasions on campus. The last time I visited was 2014. It literally feels like walking through east LA. Lots of people with face tattoos stare you down in public and young men waving gang signs in residential neighborhoods is an everyday thing. I visited the mall in 2014 and walked out immediately due to the obvious gang presence EVERYWHERE. My friends who decided to stay are still working for $10 and hour and there is very little mobility in the economy here.

Nope - 8/23/2017

Huge influx of people moving to the area from San Bernardino, bringing with them gangs and crime. Drive-by shootings, robberies, murders, drugs (so much meth). It seems everyone is on welfare or unemployment, yet you see job postings everywhere. Yeah, it's affordable but it's dangerous and crowded. If you must move the VV, find a place in Spring Valley Lake or one of the other little communities and do all of your shopping and errands in Apple Valley or Hesperia.

Climate - 8/30/2014

Very dry. A couple of inches of rain and snow each year. Each decade or so either the rain or snow triples in volume, crippling the area for a day or two (flash flooding, icing up of bridges, etc.).

I just moved here... whats not to love - 6/14/2011

I just moved her from Long beach and haven't had a single problem. the city dies at night its so quiet I get scared. I haven't seen a single drug dealer or a gang member and Being from Long Beach and living in a good neighborhood by the Beach I've still seen worse then what happens in Victorville. I see tons of job opening but I guess everyone's too good for retail jobs. The cost of living is so low that I can actually work retail and afford my own home. I was making 12 a hr in Long beach and my boy friend was making 14 a hr and we could barely afford gas, food, and clothes for our son let alone our 1800 mortgage for a 2 bed room house that literally was falling apart six months after we bought it. You should be happy. you obviously haven't been to long beach and you would think its a good city with its million dollar homes but its full of three types of gangs that love to kill each other off and any kids or elders that get in their way and police who will tell you that the area is really the Longos territory as if the concede to gang control. Victorville is quiet, family friendly, and cheap. ITS way better than all of LA county. To top that off you have the most amazing views and I cannot wait until I am all settled in so I can take my kids hiking in angeles national forest...

What a disaster Victorville has become - 1/1/2011

Victorville is one of the worst cities in California. It's hot, crowded and full of riff raff. Gang Bangers and Illegal's are everywhere. Jobs are none existent and its the epitome of the welfare state. The City and State have done an embarresssly poor job with the former George AFB. That could have been an economic gold mine but it was bafooned and mismanaged into bankruptcy. What a disaster Victorville has become. I cannot wait to get out of here.

Enter If you Dare!!! - 10/5/2008

I have lived here my entire life, born in Apple Valley California (neighboring Victorville.) My entire family has live here since the early sixties. I am only 25 but can not wait to leave here. As a single white female I find every day to be scarier and scarier. We are home to the seventh worst wal-mart in the nation. We are also home to the many Prisions and the best hospital in the High Desert, DEATH Valley opps! I mean Desert Valley ;-). Housing is cheap but consequently gang members, drug dealers and all out bums come along with the cheap housing. I am scarred of live here any more and am making plans to move ASAP. The plus sides are nice weather, close to vegas, the beach and mountains, good shopping. If you don't mind dogging a few bullets or having your house broken into then Victorville is the place for you! Good Luck!

Never again - 9/16/2008

I lived in Victorville for almost three years, attended the junior college for about a year and a half. Victor Valley College is good for a JC, but there is really nothing else to recommend this place. High crime, traffic, poor city planning (you'll love those city streets that take you out to the middle of a field and simply end, or all those bottlenecks where three turn lanes merge into one), unfriendly people, one of the worst public library systems in California. On the plus side, its warm almost year round, and there's lots of shopping. But Victorville, Hesperia, Apple Valley and even up to Barstow are just dirt lots with only a few palms and joshua trees to add any beauty. Home prices are falling because people are leaving. I left Southern California for Northern California, and will never go back. If you gave me a million dollars and a mansion in Victorville I wouldn't live there again for six months. A dump, plain and simple. Next to San Bernardino, the worst place I have ever lived.

A high desert climate - 6/3/2008

Victorville is one of several cities in California's Mojave Desert. Many people think of sand dunes when they think of deserts but a high desert is quite different. While summers bake in 110+ degrees winters chill your bones with temps in the 20s. Another oddity is the amazing wind. The seasons are sprinkled with episodes of 50 mph gails that sand blast yout car windsheild leaving micro-pits that reflect the setting sun. People either love everything about this climate or hate everything about this climate, like the High Desert itself there is no moderation.

DON'T MOVE HERE!! - 10/17/2007

I've read all the comments and everything they have said is true. This place is awful! You can find some very small pockets that are okay like Spring Valley Lake or near Jess Ranch but other than that, the city sucks! Do not move here unless you're poor, on welfare, are a gang member, changing your career to a meth dealer, moving from Compton or need to move here because someone in your family just got transfered to the local federal penitentary.

Crime on the rise - 6/23/2007

Crime is increasing. When we moved here from Los Angeles we could leave our home unlocked and go for a walk. Now you leave donations on your driveway for the Salvation Army and someone will come and help themselves in a matter of hours.

Big mistake - 1/26/2007

My husband and our two small children moved here just about a year ago and I sooo regret it. We live not far from Silverado high school and weve had nothing but problems with the unruly kids in the area. Theres no employment up here to speak of theres drug deals going on at my next door neighbors and kids just walk in the street even if you honk and your right behind them, they totally ignore you. We mostly keep to our self's so we dont know but two of our neighbors and they've agreed the neighbor hood has gone down hill quickly. So if you dont mind that then the super hot summers and the freezing windy winters might get to you. So guess I'd just say stay away from any schools, Ive been told Apple Valley is nice.

Do not consider Victorville to move too - 12/24/2006

The costof living is high. The people are rude. Everyone of your neighbors willcompete with you about who has the best home, with all the home building going on,competition is at its high.Worst of all there are no over 10:00 dollar per hour paying jobs, seriously. The utility bills are extremely high and more than 80,000 people commute an hour away to get to work every day.
