I have been living in Jupiter Florida for 13 years in a gated beachfront community called Xanadu by the Sea. A community of about 60 homes the community backs to Carlin Park to the north which gives you beautiful preserve views as well as lake views. Just across the street we have a beautiful beach that is dog friendly. A short walk is Jupiter Inlet to the north and Juno Pier to the south. We have a 7 mile bike lane that runs along the ocean as well as a sidewalk too. Shopping, restaurants and bars are just minutes away. It is by far one of the most beautiful places to live in Florida. We are very interested in moving to Jupiter in a copule of years upon retirement. We live in the Midwest. I read that Jupiter has a 21% higher cost of living than is average in the US. Trying to figure out why. Sureley you don't have heating costs like we do here. OUr summers are just as hot and humid as Jupiter. Our property taxes are just as high. We do have state income tax. I know gasoline is higher in Jupiter. Wonder what else is? Just trying to make an informed decision. We really want to do this. My husband is a huge St Louis Cardinals fan and that is where they do Spring Training. We both would love the winter there. Thanks. Jean

Hi Jim, I am thinking of moving my family to Jupiter from CT. I heard the schools are great (they are rated higher than the schools where I am now) and the sports programs are well established, crime is low, and the area is full of well-educated people. Is it all true? Thanks.
