Review of Albuquerque, New Mexico

New Mexico has to be the worst place anyone can live. It could be that it's all brown and tan, or it could be all the weeds. Maybe it's all the drunk drivers killing people or the domestic violence plauging the state. Quite possibly it could be the abundance of complete morons overwhelming every city like a zombie infestation would.

Some call this the Land of Entrapment, and quite honestly it is. With high cost housing and low wages, and poor education systems it's no surprise that once you get here that you aren't going to have much of a chance at escaping. This could quite honestly be the closest place to Hell that you can describe. Weeds upon weeds, horrifying dusty winds, awful law enforcement/state government would pretty much sum up New Mexico.

Also everyone is a jerk, because they're either stupid, a drunk, or a wife beater but quite possibly, ALL THREE! Everything is brown and tan, even the people. I'm not racist or anything, but come on... you can only handle so much brown. You'd be hard pressed to find something green, and if you do it's probably full of litter, or pistachios. Because the Indians like to leave trails of pistachios and empty malt liquor containers all the way to the corners of convenience stores and dark areas. Usually concerts that play white people music, but they generally hate white people, so I never understood them.

If you haven't run into enough idiots, jerks, and family abusers, then you'll have to put up with the massive onslaught of horribly frightening old people. If you drive in the daytime, you'll probably get into an accident or pulled over at any given time. If not that then you'll have major setbacks in traffic or construction. It's all over the place.

You won't be able to find a decent hamburger anymore because every restaurant except Macdonalds puts green chile or red chile all over everything to make up for the lack of flavor in their foods. If you love red or green and tortillas then the food in New Mexico is for you!

The best possible thing you can do in New Mexico is enjoy the outdoors. You won't get a good education, and you'll probably have an abusive family, or your car stereo was probably stolen several times, or something was vandalised that you own. But the outdoors is everything in New Mexico. The mountains, the camping, the lakes (if they haven't got much litter at the time), are all quite enjoyable. The outdoors are the escape that you need when you live in New Mexico.

There isn't much else to do, besides eat out, go see a movie, or get drunk. You can also enjoy the teenagers racing each other or doing drugs because they're too stupid to do anything else except be violent and grow up to be victims of domestic violence and alcoholism. Violence and recreational drugs are quite the thing in this state.

If you come here single, you'll most likely wind up single for the rest of your life as there are no interesting people to fall in love with. There aren't many rational, creative minds to build relationships on. All you will find here is brown colors, weeds, a mountain, and a variety of speeding tickets, and most likely terrible, horrible relationships.

It's not fair to say that everything sucks in New Mexico, but it's quite honest to say that almost everything does. It's hard to find something nice to say about a dry, violent, stupid desert.

Wow. What a sad and pathetic post that is. I am sorry you are such an unhappy person. I have a feeling that you would be posting the same kind of relentless negativity regardless of where you lived because its obvious that you are actually lacking positivity/creativity/love in your own soul. If you fix that, you'll see beauty, kindness, and love where ever you are.

My wife and I visited Santa Fe & Albuquerque in 4/2010 & found the people for the part friendly. Some area’s that we did see seemed bleak and in despair, but for the most part, unlike many urban cities. We’re both raised in NYC & live in upstate NY (Sullivan Co.) with many problems of their own. We’re looking for a place to retire, and New Mexico is on the list. We’ve read many negative posts, any positives out there? Thanks.
