Where to look for Jobs
Star Rating - 11/4/2007
Where are the majority of jobs located in Alq? I have heard the East side. Also, and local agencies for job placement would be helpful. Thanks!

Carrie, you would be better off finding a job here before you move. This is a college town with beautiful weather and a lower cost of living. Population growth is huge as far as new people coming in. It is also more of a service centered town versus manufacturing so there are a lot of people competing for the same jobs. Most of the jobs are either downtown or along I-25, but it doesn't matter where you live, everything is 15 minutes in Abq.

Eastside is correct (NE). And frankly, having lived here for 7 months (it took me 5 months to find work here when I relocated from another state)and now helping others find work, I can tell you there are a lot more educated people looking for work then they are openings. In fact, quite a few UNM graduates move out of state because they cannot find work here. Great city to retire, lousy place to work.
