Flagstaff cost of living is high in my opinion. A small 3 bedroom home in a so so neighborhood can easily run you 250K. Sales tax is also high, it can run between 8-10%. Property taxes are reasonable compared to most places. But for raising a family, you could do a lot better. My wife would prefer to stay at home and homeschool our children, but it is almost impossible to do that for us. I would need to be making at least 80K in order for that to happen, and jobs that pay that high a salary are rare in this town. There are a lot of positives about the town, but we cannot afford to live here much longer.
