Located in the heart of rural Hood County, Tolar, Texas is a small community with a population of around 1,500 people. There are several educational institutions within the town’s limits, including public and private schools. The public schools in the area are primarily served by Tolar Independent School District (TISD) and include five elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. TISD offers a unique learning environment for students of all ages and has an overall rating of 8/10. In addition to these public learning institutions, there are also two private Catholic schools: St. Joseph's Catholic School and St. John’s Catholic School that serve grades PK-8. These two Catholic Schools are highly rated for their education system consisting of faith-based instruction combined with strong academic programming. Finally, there is also Weatherford College located nearby which provides advanced education and career opportunities to local students as well as those from other areas in the state or country. All of these educational institutions provide a safe and quality learning environment for the children living in Tolar and its surrounding communities.
