Rich and upper middle class neighborhoods - 10/15/2010

Taxes thru the roof. Highest taxed town in the entire USA. Business frowned upon.Extremely bloated school budget with excess school administration staff. The high school is a drug addicts paradise even with the police doing all they can. You name it and you can buy it there. Also very clique oriented in the schools. No youth programs, to keep the kids out of trouble, to speak of unless you can pay for them. Close to everything, but only a one small food store in town and a few deli's. Climate is brutal in the winter. They pull the grass and sidewalks in at about 6 in the summer and abount 4:30 in the winter.

property and taxes - 4/17/2006

a good place to live in many ways - low crime, good location - but the school/property taxes are extremly high and will continue to rise in the years ahead due to a large bond issue sold earlier this decade to build a new high school. property itself is expensive, too, due to proximity to new york city. in other words, despite all its plusses, the area is very pricey when it comes to property and taxes.
