Magnificent Area...Very High Cost of Living

East Hampton, NY is a beautiful area on Eastern Long Island. The area has some of the nicest ocean beaches in the country, attractive villages and a mix of ocean, village, and wooded communities.
The atmosphere in the Hamptons ranges from quiet and rural in the winter to bustling in the summer. The pace of life is notably different mid-week to weekends, as this is a heavy second home area populated largely by people who's primary homes are in the New York Metropolitan area.
As is widely known, the population of the Hamptons is largely very affluent. The cost of living is extremely high - goods, services, fuel, restaurants, etc. are significantly more expensive than even in towns that are only a little West of the Hamptons.
Real estate taxes have risen dramatically over the years. On the plus side, the property values have also dramatically risen over the years.
