Depends on what you want

I'm not from PV but grew up in the Northeastern part of the state. I have been to PV and P many times and would say that if you like a small town (though moderately-sized compared to where I grew up), a variety of outdoor activities, slow pace, and moderate climate then it seems like a great place. If you like the night life, plenty of stores and entertainment, and a fast pace then it's probably not for you. It does seem to be growing so that may change eventually.
I always find it so fascinating when urban dwellers (I've lived in Phoenix and Tucson for extended periods) say that there's 'nothing to do' in ((choose your small town)). I have the opposite perspective, as I love getting outdoors, in the forest, on the trail, on the lake and feel claustrophobic in the city. There's plenty to do for 'free' outdoors, but relatively little in the city. If you have cash to burn, then there's plenty to do in the city. It all just depends on what YOU consider 'things to do'.
