Small Town but Nice Place

We visited Walsenburg last week, Oct 2009. The town is extremely small. Unlike the comment mentioned on someone's previous post, we did find places to eat. There is a Pizza Hut, a Carl's Burgers and a local cafe. The town has a hardware store, a Dollar General store and a Safeway grocery. There are also some small shops that probably do most of their business in the Summer months. Some more upscale neighborhoods are forming on the outskirts of town. Small town with not much to do, but many people like such a slow pace. We liked the area and the climate was nice. A good breeze/wind was always blowing. La Veta is only a few miles down the road. If you want to go shopping Pueblo is about an hours drive up highway 25.
